Modern Solid Oak Sideboard
This modern solid oak sideboard was a client’s own commission, and was to be the centrepiece of their new dining room renovation. Inspired by the wild, abstract Mhairi Helena curtain fabric, the palette of charcoal grey and cranberry was chosen, alongside a custom blended pewter metallic accent. Several different bespoke stencils were created to fit the proportions of each area perfectly, in a teasel design which was adapted to create the illusion of “handles" on the drawers. As my client was a proud Mancunian, she had asked me to incorporate bees in a chic, understated way. Perfectly scaled bee-panels were created up the centre of each door, and on the right and left of the sideboard you’ll find a delicate plume of bees disappearing into the sky.
